According to sources aware of the matter, Bacha’s condition is improving and he is currently out of danger. While Manzoor Pashteen is still in the custody of the provincial security forces and his close associates have not been able to contact him ever since.
“Mashar Manzoor was on his way back from a PTM procession (a memorial March to remember slain PTM activist from Balochistan Arman Loni) at the time of the attack. At Zhob road uniformed personnel of the provincial security forces fired a volley of bullets towards his car. Some of these bullets hit the vehicle while at least three directly hit our associate Noor Bacha in the shoulder. Per my information, after the firing raid, the security forces surrounded his car and we have not been able to get in touch with him since,” says Rahim Wazir, PTM member and a close associate of Manzoor Ahmad Pashteen.
Civil society activists, journalists, and members of the national assembly were quick to condemn this attack which “undermines the cohesion of the federation.”
