3 youngsters arrested over stalking videos
Three people were arrested for filming women passersby and harassing them by uploading their videos on social media in Lodhran.
A woman, Bashiran, had lodged a complaint against Muhammad Ayub, Khizar and Umar, for stalking her daughter in Basti Daulatshahwala neighbourhood. According to the woman, the youngsters were her neighbours and stalked her daughters by making and uploading their videos.
According to police, woman also accused them of dragging and tearing her clothes when she tried to stop them from making these videos. The district police officer took notice of the incident and ordered their arrest.
Female anchor faces acid attack
A female news anchor escaped unhurt when an unidentified assailant tried to throw acid on her outside her home in Gulbahar area of Peshawar.
In a video message posted on social media, Zakia Khan said that a man rang his door bell and inquired whether she was home. The news anchor said the man carried a bottle upon which she became suspicious and tried to close the door. The attacker poured the contents of the bottle on the door and fled from the scene.
The anchor appealed to the government to provide her protection while the police have registered a case. However, no arrest has been made in the case so far.
Woman arrested for false rape complaint
A woman has been arrested for lodging a false complaint of rape against a police official in Okara.
Shahina Parveen had registered a rape case against Saddar Sub-Inspector Hamid Rasheed whom she accused of raping her twice when she met him over the abduction case of her daughter. The woman had appeared before District Police Officer Muhammad Hasan Iqbal and accused the police official of rape. The district police chief got the sub-inspector arrested and suspended him after the registration of a rape case. The police official is still in the district jail as his bail plea was rejected on July 14 by a court.
However, the complainant denied the rape incident while recording her statement in the court of the area magistrate under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedures. The DPO learnt about the complainant’s denial statement, to which he got a case registered against Shahina.
