On September 13, Judge Humayun Dilawar challenged an FIR issued by a local court in Bannu district regarding a land grabbing case at the Peshawar High Court’s Bannu bench. The court subsequently barred the Anti-Corruption team from arresting Humayun Dilawar, the Special Judge Central 2, Islamabad.
Presenting the case in the court, Judge Humayun Dilawar’s lawyer stated that there is a record in the revenue department showing that the 419-kanal land is owned by the judge’s father, Haji Dilawar Khan. The administration had issued a proper NOC for building a residential colony on the land.
The lawyer mentioned that an FIR was filed against the judge on September 9, and a warrant was issued the next day. The FIR was lodged after he gave a verdict against the PTI founder Imran Khan in Toshakhana case on August 5, 2023.
The Anti-Corruption Department claims that 39 kanals of land were illegally transferred between 1976 and 1980.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif declared in a statement that the Anti-Corruption Establishment is investigating complaints against Judge Humayun Dilawar, his father, and his brother for tampering with official documents and seizing land.
He added that Dilawar, his father, and his brothers illegally obtained an NOC for a housing society on their land in Bannu, and they were accused of forging official documents to include additional land in the housing society.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s special assistant for Anti-Corruption, Muhammad Musaddiq Abbasi, stated that Humayun Dilawar, along with his father and brothers, started a housing society in Bannu and registered the land under their names by a local court in 1980.
He added that through document forgery, they added more land to the housing society, which has led to significant progress in the ongoing investigation against them.
Abbasi said that the Anti-Corruption Establishment is investigating the case on merit and that, according to the filed case, they are involved in forgery and land grabbing.
