Honor Killing Suspected: Woman Fatally Shot by In-Laws During Divorce Filing

A woman named Tahmina Sangro was fatally shot in Larkana, reportedly by her brothers-in-law, at a Dokri court on Friday while she was in the process of filing for divorce. Tahmina had been married to a relative in Ratodero for approximately three years and had a son.

According to her father, Mohammad Saleh Sangro, she had been expressing dissatisfaction with her in-laws’ disrespectful conduct for about a year.

 

Mother and Infant Found Brutally Murdered in Karachi Home

A tragic incident unfolded in Karachi as 33-year-old Faiza and her one-and-a-half-year-old son, Mohammed Zohan, were brutally murdered in their Quaidabad residence. Faiza was stabbed to death, while her son tragically drowned in an underground water tank.

Compounding the tragedy, Faiza’s husband, a Pakistan Navy employee, had recently died in a road accident just four months earlier. Following this devastating loss, Faiza and her son were living alone in the house.

Faiza’s sister alerted the police to the crime after several failed attempts to contact her. The motive behind this horrifying double murder is currently under investigation.

The bodies were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed confirmed that Faiza had suffered multiple injuries to her head and face, and samples were collected to determine if a sexual assault had taken place.

Family Sets Girl on Fire in Jhang

In a horrifying incident in Jhang, a girl was burned alive by her family for eloping with a man. Masooma Bibi, before succumbing to her injuries at the hospital, disclosed to the police that she had left home with her chosen partner and desired to marry him. However, her parents brought her back.

Upon her return, her father Rajab Ali, brothers Jabbar and Amer, along with three female relatives, Kausar, Sumera, and Ayesha, set her clothes on fire after dousing her body with petrol. Sustaining critical burns, she was immediately rushed to the hospital.

The Jhang District Police Officer, Malik Tariq Mahboob, arrived at the scene and promptly transferred the girl to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital. Unfortunately, she could not survive her burns, but not before giving her statement.

An official confirmed that the police have apprehended all the mentioned suspects and have filed a case against them.
