Honor Killing in Lahore
According to reports, a man in Badami Bagh shot and killed his sister in the name of honor. The victim, identified as “N,” had previously been married and divorced before marrying a man of her choice for the second time.
Her brother, Ikram, was so enraged by her decision that he fatally shot her. Police took the victim’s body to the morgue.
Woman’s Dismembered Body Found in Bag
Body of a dismembered woman was found in a bag in her home after neighbours reported a foul smell in Muzaffargarh. She was killed and cut into pieces with a sharp weapon by unidentified assailants.
The victim was identified as 48-year-old Nasreen Bibi. Police are investigating the case. This is not the first incident of unidentified bodies being found in the canals. 67 people were recovered from the canals between 2014 and 2020.
Father sentenced to death for raping minor daughter in Sadiqabad
A man from Mustafa Town in Sadiqabad has been sentenced to death by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Moeen Khokhar for the rape of his own minor daughter. The verdict was announced on Friday and included a fine of Rs0.5m.
The case was registered at City Police Station in January after the victim’s maternal grandfather filed a complaint. The convict has also been ordered to pay Rs1m as compensation to the victim, with an additional six months of imprisonment in case of default. The penalty under Section 377-B of PPC includes 25 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs1m.
