Hindu woman’s cremated remains desecrated
The remains of a Hindu woman’s burnt body were desecrated in Shamshan Ghat in Balochistan. The incident led to widespread protests in Kalat Balochistan with hundreds of Hindu community members taking to the road to demand action against the persons involved in hurting the sentiments of the community. The protestors marched in the street led by community leaders and joined by other religious and political party members.

According to community leaders, the woman had died recently and relatives had cremated her body in Shamshan Ghat. After the cremation, unidentified persons burnt the body again, threw the remains and desecrated them.

Previously, the gate of the crematorium was stolen and the Hindu community members complained to the district administration to no avail.

University student stoned to death
A 22-year-old final year student of CEAD from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, was stoned to death by her spouse.

According to the police report, the mutilated body of Majida Abbasi was recovered from a desolate hilly area near the Ghulam Jakhro village in Jamshoro on September 26, 2022. Police shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem and arrested her spouse Zahid Solani for the murder after he surrendered himself to the police.

The suspect Zahid Solangi, also a final year student himself at the Jamshoro Sindh University, said he had solemnized a love marriage with Majida two years ago.

He stated that a few days ago his wife demanded a divorce and left him. This infuriated Zahid who then killed his wife. According to Javed Baloch, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jamshoro, the suspect confessed to killing his 22-year-old wife by hitting her with stones.

Four policemen dismissed for torturing a citizen
Four police officials from South Waziristan have been fired after they tortured a citizen in the Anguar Ada area of South Waziristan.

Constables Khursheed Alam, Atiqur Rehman, Gohar and Noor Islam were involved in the incident against were immediately dismissed after the news of the torture went viral.

South Wazirisation DPO Atiqullah Wazir taking the initiative noted that the illegal treatment of common citizens will not be tolerated. He further noted that an inquiry will be conducted against the officers against whom the complaints were made.
