Youth murders mother for ‘honor’
A young man and his friends murdered his mother and her alleged paramour for ‘honour’ in Jacobabad on Friday.
The victim, a lady healthcare worker by profession and head of the local Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) women’s wing, was gunned down by the suspects who then met up with a schoolteacher whom they suspected she was having an affair with outside a hotel in the outskirts of town.
After buying the schoolteacher tea, they boys killed him and escaped with his wallet and cellphone. Police believe the accused have fled to Balochistan, and are conducting raids for their immediate arrest.
Another woman gang-raped on moving train
Another woman was allegedly gang-raped by security guards on the Sir Syed Express travelling from Faisalabad to Rawalpindi last week.
According to the survivor, suspects Muhammad Sohail and Arshad Mehendi dragged her to the washroom of an empty bogie and took turns sexually assaulting her.
Railway police registered a case and arrested the accused.
Earlier in May, a woman was gang-raped on the Multan-Karachi Bahauddin Zakaria Express, following which the Prime Minister directed Pakistan Railways to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of female passengers.
Three accused of gang-raping minor girl
Three men reportedly gang-raped a 10-year-old girl in Karachi’s Chanesar Goth area.
According to the FIR registered by the girl’s father with the Mehmoodabad Policy, the girl went to buy something from one Khairu’s shop, who abducted her and took her via a rickshaw to an empty house. There, the nominated accused and his two accomplices sexually abused her.
The girl’s father continued that the suspects abandoned her on the road and threatened her not to inform anyone of the incident. She managed to return home where she alerted her family of the incident.
Police have arrested Khairu while his two accomplices are on the run. An initial checkup turned up inconclusive, while a medico legal examination is awaited.
