Infant kidnapped from Rawalpindi hospital reunited with family
A newborn baby who was abducted from the nursery of Rawalpindi’s Holy Family Hospital was reunited with his parents after four days.
Police officials handed over the abducted infant to their parents at a ceremony in the hospital. Police said the suspects involved were being interrogated.
2 senior Pemra officials found guilty of harassment
Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Kashmala Tariq has ordered that a director-general of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority should be dismissed from service while another senior official demoted after having been found guilty of sexual harassment at the workplace.
In the order, both officials had also been fined Rs 2 million and Rs 500,000 for misconduct and violations of the service rules against a female officer. The order has been forwarded to Pemra for implementation and submission of a compliance report within seven days.
Infant sold for adoption in Mardan
A six-month-old child in Mardan was reunited with his parents after a relative was arrested for fraudulently giving him up for adoption.
Police said the accused handed over his infant cousin to another man for adoption, claiming that the child’s mother has passed away. The man paid Rs. 40,000 to the suspect for the child’s adoption.
