Lahore doctor nabbed for blackmailing women
A doctor from Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for drugging and filming inappropriate videos of female doctors and nurses. One of the victims filed a complaint with the Lahore Police against one Muhammad Abdullah Haris.
Police were able to apprehend the suspect when the complainant, whom Haris pressured into meeting up with him, tipped them off about her whereabouts.
A case has been registered under sections 20 (offences against dignity of a natural person), 21 (offences against modesty of a natural person or minor), and 24 (cyber stalking) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
School janitor rapes fifth-grader
A school janitor by the name of Younus Masih employed at a government school in Sheikhupura was arrested for raping a fifth-grader. The mother of the rape survivor claimed that the police did not listen to her complaint, forcing her to go to the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau who then pressured the police into registering the case.
The suspect said he used to buy the child shawarmas, and then one day raped her in a classroom.
Minar-e-Pakistan harassment victim gets death threats
TikTok creator Ayesha Akram has filed a complaint with the police, claiming she has been receiving death threats and accused another creator, Ali Shah, of being involved.
She said that he has been blackmailing her for a while.
Earlier this week, the Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case had taken a turn after Akram’s friend and co-creator Rambo had been arrested by police after he had been accused by the victim of blackmailing her for the past 3 years. Akram stated that Rambo had shot objectionable videos of her and was extorting money from her.
Following his arrest, an audio tape purported to be of Akram and Rambo discussing ways to blackmail the suspects, went viral on social media.
