Three booked for throwing acid on woman in Faisalabad
A man and his second wife along with their accomplices have been accused of throwing acid on his ex-wife on Monday, May 24, after she filed a claim for alimony.
According to the victim’s brother Ghulam Zeb, three unidentified persons knocked on her door on the night of the incident. When she opened the door, the suspects who were on motorbikes threw acid on her and sped away. She suffered burns on her legs and other parts of her body. A Rescue 1122 team provided her first aid before shifting her to the burn unit of Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
Ghulam Zeb alleges the motorcyclists carried out the attack on the orders of the victim’s former husband Shafiq, his second wife Eman and others identified as Hassan Batwa, Nadeem Abbas and Fatima. He provided that the victim married Shafiq three years ago but due to constant quarreling obtained a divorce and filed an alimony claim with the court.
A case has been registered while further action will be taken following a medico-legal report.
Six allegedly gang-rape woman in Rawalpindi
The Airport police have lodged a case against six persons for allegedly gang-raping a woman in Dhoke Chaudhrian in Chaklala Scheme III, Rawalpindi, on Sunday, May 23.
According to the rape-survivor’s account, she was living with her family in a rented house for the past year. The owner of the house, she claimed, often harassed her and demanded she befriend him. The complainant approached her mother who them complained to the accused’s parents.
At around 10:30 PM on Sunday, the accused along with five unidentified men barged into their home and gang-raped her.
Youths gang-raped in separate incidents in Dijkot
At least four young men were gang-raped in separate incidents in Dijkot.
In the first incident, a resident of Chak 433GB informed police that her son, a male dancer, along with a friend were hired by five suspects, including Wajid, Pervez, Adnan alias Eido and Ijaz to perform at a private residence. However, suspect Wajid began beating him and when her son’s friend objected, the suspects tied him up before proceeding to gang-rape her son.
Separately, one Ali Raza, a resident of Ahmedabad in Batala Colony, told police that his brother and his friend were returning home from work from the factory they worked at when suspects Abid Ali Gujjar and Mian Ali, who are known to have a criminal record, abducted both youths near Amin Park Baghdadi Chowk. The suspects took both men to a junkyard at Mithaiwala Chowk where they were subsequently gang-raped.
