10 pm deadline for bazaars in Peshawar

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made masks compulsory in public and has set a deadline of 10 pm for the closure of markets in the wake of the second wave of COVID. All markets, malls, restaurants, hotels, bakeries, wedding halls, beauty parlors, and barbershops will shut by 10 pm while all amusement parks will close by 6 pm.

Spike claims 30 more lives

At least 30 more people died of the virus with 1,376 new cases in the last 24 hours in the country. Sindh reported 556 cases and 17 deaths while KP recorded 126 news cases with three fatalities.

Multan, Rawalpindi see a surge in cases

The virus positivity rate has jumped to 7 and 6 percent respectively in Multan and Rawalpindi while it has increased to 3 percent in Lahore. The percentage of the virus positivity in Punjab has increased to 2 percent from 0.1 percent in a couple of months.

5 institutes sealed in Islamabad

Five educational institutions have been sealed in the federal capital after staff and students tested positive for the COVID virus. The institutions included Government College in F-10/4, two medical colleges in Farash Town, and Rawat.
