1,123 cases, 12 deaths reported across the country
At least 1,123 cases of COVID and 12 fatalities have been reported across the country in the last 24 hours. Total cases have reached 335,093 with a death toll of 6,835 and 315,016 recoveries since the pandemic began in February.
Section 144 imposed in Islamabad
The administration has imposed Section 144 on masks in public places as COVID cases on rising in the federal capital. In a tweet, Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat said Section 144 on masks is now applicable to offices, public transport, hospitals, restaurants, and shops.
Elderly less affected by COVID
Only 157 people aged over 80 have contracted the pandemic virus making them the least affected age group in the federal capital. Islamabad District Health Authority report says people aged between 31 years and 45 years remained hardest hit with 5,786 cases.
