
Shot Dead For Honour
Ahsan Jakhrani of Ali Hassan Jakhrani village in Jacobabad shot to death his wife, Sakhiran Jakhrani (27) and Jabal Jakhrani (37), a resident of his neighbourhood, for the honour. A case has been registered at the Mouladad police station, investigation ongoing.
Construction of Hindu Temple Contested
A petition submitted in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has called upon the government to recall funds and stop the construction of a Hindu Temple in Sector H-9, Islamabad. According to the petitioner, the new temple violates Islamabad’s master plan, and that an existing temple in Saidpur village should be renovated instead. The IHC issued a notice on Tuesday, June 30 to the Capital Development Authority to submit a reply to the petition.
3 Die While Cleaning Waste Plant Well
Three labourers at a beverage factory in Sahianwala, Faisalabad died from suffocation in the factory’s wastewater plant on Tuesday, June 30. A worker had initially gone in to clean the nearly 70-foot deep well but did not return. A team of five went in after him, out of which two more suffocated to death while remaining three managed to survive.
Students Maintain Demand For Internet
Students of Garam Chashma valley in Chitral continued their nearly two-week-long protest against lack of internet access preventing them from attending online classes. Meanwhile, workers of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) and the Baloch Students Organization Pajjar held a protest in Dalbandin on Tuesday, June 30 against the arrest of protesting students by Quetta Police.
