Policing In Pandemic

84 police officials had contracted COVID-19 so far out of which 25 have already recovered while the rest are under treatment: IGP Islamabad

SI Ghulam Mustafa & constable Mumtaz died taking the total of number of 11 cops who died in Sindh. 238 out of 877 cops have recovered.

IGP Punjab orders to utilise the Rs 45 million out of 72 million allocated for getting PPEs within 14 days as more than 105 cops test positive only in Rawalpindi.

Ineffective Lockdown

Administration of Karachi failed to enforce the announced ‘smart lockdown’ in the COVID-19 hotspots by Thursday nights as identified by NCOC.

SOPs chalked out by the state including district administration were openly violated across Karachi.

In 24 Hours

132 more people succumbed to the COVID-19, taking the total death toll past 3,000 while 5,439 more people tested positive. Pakistan has 163,177 total confirmed patients.

PM Khan called for a united and properly coordinated front against COVID-19 while in meeting with the policy making and implementing stakeholders in NCOC meeting.

Healthcare Facilities

PM while presiding over a meeting at NCOC directed federal & provincial authorities to ensure availability of medicines, oxygen & beds in all hospitals.

Government has also banned the unprescribed sale of Dexamethasone as it was being sold in black on higher prices after research came out on its effectiveness.
