ISLAMABAD

Several incidents of heinous crimes against women and innocent children have emerged in Rawalpindi over the past few days. These incidents include the brutal torture of a minor domestic worker, the continuous rape of a woman, and the abduction of a newborn baby girl. In all these cases, the Rawalpindi Police have taken action and arrested the primary suspects.

13 year old domestic worker tortured with electric devices

A brutal incident occurred in Bahria Town Phase 8, where a 13-year-old minor domestic worker (already illegally employed as she was underage), was subjected to the worst physical torture by her employers. According to the police, the particular incident took place on the night of May 4, 2026, when Foot Constable Muhammad Adeel Riaz, while on night duty, heard the loud screams of a girl who he saw running out of a house in a state of distress.

A police officer, speaking to Voicepk on condition of anonymity, said that in her statement to the police, the girl said her parents had employed her there four months ago through a company for 20,000 rupees a month. The girl alleged that during these four months, she was neither allowed to meet her parents, nor permitted to speak to them on the phone. She further added that she was kept confined in a room and the house owner’s wife would often beat her. It was also alleged that the suspects tortured her using electric devices, and injury marks have been found on her body. Police have taken action and arrested the suspects involved in the torture as well as the girl’s parents, while the girl has been handed over to the Child Protection Department after a medical examination.

Pirwadhai: Woman raped in illegal confinement

Another tragic incident took place in the Pirwadhai area, where a woman was kept in illegal confinement for a long period and subjected to sexual abuse. According to the police, the victim, who hails from Vehari, came to Rawalpindi nine years ago with her father, where she assisted him by selling Miswak. After her father’s return, she stayed at a hotel in Pirwadhai, where the hotel manager and his female companion confined her in a room.

According to the Police FIR, the suspects used to send the woman to various individuals and it is alleged that they subjected her to sexual abuse, as a result of which she became pregnant. The woman gave birth to a baby girl at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, but upon returning from the hospital, the hotel manager and his companion forcibly snatched the newborn and threatened the woman with dire consequences to keep her silent. Police told Voicepk that the suspects had also prepared fake stamp papers without the victim’s knowledge. Seven months ago, the woman got married, after which she approached the police.

In a statement issued to the media, police claimed that upon notice from CPO Khalid Hamdani, police took immediate action, arrested the hotel manager, and safely recovered the abducted baby girl.

Child abuse

According to the police, another incident occurred on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the Ratta Amral area, where the four-year-old son of a goldsmith was subjected to lust by his neighbor. The child’s father told the police they were sleeping at home when they heard their son crying. The child stated that the neighbor called him to his house under the pretext of playing games on a laptop and sexually abused him there. On the instructions of the CPO, police took immediate action and arrested the 18-year-old suspect.

According to the police statement, CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Mahmood Hamdani has taken a strict stance regarding all these incidents, stating that those who subject innocent children and women to violence and abuse deserve no leniency. Police are gathering solid evidence in all cases so that the suspects can be handed the strictest punishments by the court.
