Honour Killing Claims Lives of Couple in Korangi: Police Investigate

A couple was fatally shot in what appears to be an ‘honour’ killing in Korangi on Thursday morning. Unidentified individuals on a motorcycle arrived at their residence in Mehran Town, opening fire on Misal Khan, 45, and Kiran, 35, before escaping. The victims were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but were pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to Korangi Industrial Area police SHO Obaidullah Khan, this double homicide appears to be driven by ‘honour’ considerations. Misal Khan initially married in his hometown of Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but subsequently eloped with Kiran, the sister of his wife, leading to their marriage and escape to Karachi. The police suspect the involvement of the deceased woman’s relatives in the incident.

The couple had four children, and it remains unclear who their biological mother is. At the time of the killings, the children were at school and have been placed in the care of neighbors since they lack relatives in the city. The police are awaiting the arrival of relatives from KPK to file a formal FIR.

Man Arrested in Connection with 21-Month-Old Case of Five-Year-Old Girl’s Murder

A man named Muzammil has been arrested by Malka Hans Police Station for the murder of a five-year-old girl, Adan Fatima, who had gone missing from Dhapai village 21 months ago.

After a lengthy search yielded no leads, her family filed an abduction case against unidentified individuals at the same police station. The victim’s uncle, Arshad, suspected their neighbor Muzammil and alerted the authorities.

Acting on the District Police Officer’s orders, Muzammil was apprehended and subsequently confessed to the crime, allegedly motivated by a personal grudge against the child’s mother. He had enticed the young girl with biscuits, taken her on a motorcycle, killed her, and disposed of her body in the Pakpattan canal.
