Rape suspected after body of minor Afghan girl found
The body of a 6-year-old Afghan girl was discovered on the outskirts of Peshawar on Wednesday.
According to a Tribune report, the minor disappeared while visiting relatives with her mother and was reported missing Tuesday evening. After a 12 hour search, she was found deceased in a sugarcane field near the Khazana area of Peshawar.
Initial reports indicate that the minor was sexually assaulted, while the exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
Man murders sister to get hitched sooner
On Wednesday, one Muhammad Faisal, a resident of Marri Kanjour area of Attock, shot his sister dead in order to get married earlier, as reported by Dawn.
According to the police, the accused was being forced by his family to put his own marriage on hold while his sister remained single. The victim reportedly refused to get married.
The accused has been arrested.
Couple held for torturing minor domestic worker
Bahria Town Rawalpindi police on Wednesday detained a couple for allegedly torturing an 8-year-old girl employed as a domestic worker in their home, reported Dawn.
In his complaint to the police, the girl’s father, Fazeel Ahmed, stated that his daughter had been working as a nanny at the accused’s residence for the past six months on a monthly salary of Rs. 6,000.
On the night of August 25, her employers reportedly physically tortured her due to which she sustained two fractures in her elbow. Ahmed, a resident of Khanpur Katora tehsil of Rahimyar Khan, also stated that she had visible injuries on her head and fingers.
The girl managed to escape her employers’ home the following day, and reached Khanpur Dam in Haripur. Locals managed to contact her father to alert her to her situation and whereabouts.
The minor informed her family that she had been beaten with a baton and ladle.
