Elderly Woman Raped in Rahim Yar Khan
An 80-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Rahim Yar Khan. The incident occurred in Basti Din Muhammad, near Moza Galore Massu Khan, which is approximately 55 kilometers away from Rahim Yar Khan.
According to the Rukanpur police, the woman’s son and two witnesses caught the suspect in the act while the family was away attending a Muharram procession on July 29. The suspect managed to flee the scene. A case has been registered against the perpetrator under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Sindh High Court Orders Police Protection for Woman and Daughter Facing Harassment
Police were ordered by the Sindh High Court to protect a woman and her daughter from harassment by influential men in Khairpur Nathan Shah, District Dadu. The woman, Najma Gulzar, filed a petition stating that the private respondents were pressuring her to marry her 22-year-old daughter Fauzia to an eight-year-old named Imtiaz Ali Khoso.
Despite their refusal, the private respondents threatened them and their family. When they sought protection from the local police, they were denied due to the influence and political backing of the private respondents. Consequently, the family had to relocate to Karachi to escape constant harassment and threats, including the possibility of a false criminal case against Najma’s husband.
The court issued notices to the Sindh advocate general and the Khairpur Nathan Shah police, and directed the police to provide protection to the petitioner and her daughter until the next hearing.
Minor girl sexually assaulted in Nowshera
Six-year-old girl sexually assaulted by cousin in Nowshera’s Zaidi Colony. The accused, 26-year-old Jalal, was arrested by the police after the victim, Faryal, tearfully revealed the abuse, which occurred in a deserted ground near Durrani Street.
Faryal’s mother, Ms. Nizakat, reported the incident to the police and took legal action against the accused following her husband’s advice. The girl underwent a laboratory examination confirming the sexual assault. Police investigation ongoing.
