Suspensions Issued after Alleged Rape at Okara Railway Station

Four individuals, including the station master, have been suspended following an investigation into an alleged rape at Okara railway station. The incident occurred on May 9 when a passenger, waiting for a train to Karachi, was enticed into the parcel collection room and sexually assaulted by its head.

The victim was then compelled to board the train without reporting the incident. Upon reaching Karachi, she shared her ordeal with her family, who subsequently filed a case with the Karachi Cantt police station. Mian Muhammad Moeen Khan Wattoo, Chairman of Pakistan Railways Standing Committee, took note of the incident and established a three-member inquiry team led by Dilawar Memon, DSP of Railways Karachi Cantt police.

Despite the team’s inquiry, the primary suspect failed to appear, resulting in the station master’s suspension for negligence in ensuring the suspect’s presence during the investigation.

 

Brother Axes Sister to Death Over Suspicions in Toba Tek Singh

A woman was killed with an axe by her brother due to suspicions about her character. The incident took place in Chak 414-JB, Gojra tehsil.

The father of the victim and suspect, Ghulam Muhammad, reported that he was not present at home when his son, Babar Ali, witnessed a man leaving the house. Babar questioned his sister, Safia Bibi, about the man, but her response did not satisfy him.

In a fit of anger, Babar attacked his sister with an axe, resulting in her immediate death. The suspect has been arrested by the police, who have initiated an investigation.

Man Murders Wife for Opposing Second Marriage

A man in Pirain area allegedly murdered his wife on Sunday after she objected to his second marriage. The victim’s brother, Babar Fida, filed a police report stating that his brother-in-law, Adil Zeb, informed him of the crime over the phone.

Fida arrived at the scene to find his sister, Farhat Bibi, lying in a pool of blood. He rushed her to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by doctors. Zeb had entered into a second marriage without the consent of his first wife, who was the mother of their two children. After the necessary medical procedures, the body was released to the family.

Honor Killing: Brother Allegedly Shoots Young Woman Dead in Karachi

A young woman was allegedly killed by her brother in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in an apparent “honor” crime, according to the police. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in Phase VI of DHA.

The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal procedures. The police surgeon reported that the woman had suffered two bullet wounds to her head and leg, causing severe damage. The initial investigation revealed that the victim’s brother confessed to the crime during police interrogation.

The suspect claimed that the shooting was accidental, but the police concluded that it was a deliberate act. The suspect stated that he shot his sister because she had “illicit relations” with someone. Despite family members refusing to file a report, the state will register a murder case against the suspect.
