Newborn Girl Abducted from Dera Ismail Khan Hospital
A newborn girl was abducted from a hospital in Dera Ismail Khan while her mother was praying during admission. The baby’s father reported the kidnapping to the police, and an investigation is ongoing.
According to the hospital director, the incident was due to the family’s negligence as no one accompanied the mother and baby to the hospital. The suspect allegedly arrived at the hospital with a man on a motorcycle, met the mother, and took the baby before fleeing with the man.
The hospital is cooperating with the police and has shared CCTV footage in hopes of identifying the accomplice and arresting the kidnapper soon.
Woman who contracted freewill marriage goes missing
Police search for woman in Pakistan feared killed by her brothers for contracting a freewill marriage. Naseema Mahar had been living with her husband in Karachi before being persuaded by her family to return to their village.
Women’s rights activist Dr. Ayesha Hassan Darejo alerted authorities after Naseema went missing on Friday.
The suspects are believed to have buried her body secretly. The police detained some suspects for interrogation and sent a strong contingent to the village to locate Naseema or her body.
Husband Arrested for Alleged Acid Attack on Wife During Family Dispute
Police reported that a man was taken into custody after allegedly attacking his wife with acid in the Korangi Industrial Area on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Shahnaz Bibi, sustained burns in the incident, which occurred during a family dispute in Mohammed Khan Goth. She was subsequently transported to the Burns Centre at Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for medical attention.
The suspect, Tariq, was apprehended by law enforcement officials, and an ongoing investigation is currently underway.
