Armed Robber Steals Cash and Ornaments, Allegedly Rapes Woman in Sargodha

 

A family was robbed and a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by an armed man in the Shahpur city police precincts, located approximately 35km from Sargodha. 

According to the police, Tahir Abbas reported that he and his female relatives were returning home after attending a wedding event in Adil Shah village on Friday night when they were stopped by an armed man. 

The perpetrator took cash worth Rs300,000 and gold ornaments from three women, and then allegedly assaulted one of the women at gunpoint in nearby fields. The suspect also robbed other family members who were traveling in a rickshaw. 

The district police officer visited the scene and assured the family that the suspect would be arrested soon.

 

Woman Targeted in Social Media Campaign After Helping Arrest Father’s Murderer

 

Maham Amjad, a Pakistani woman based in the UAE, has faced over 300 social media accounts targeting her after helping authorities arrest the main suspect in her father’s murder. 

She claims that the “vicious campaign” began after the arrest of Syed Taqi Haider Shah, who she believes killed her father, Mohammad Ahmed Amjad, in 2008. 

Amjad has been using social media to lead a campaign for justice for her father’s murder, and played a key role in Shah’s arrest by identifying his profile on LinkedIn.
