FIA arrests man for blackmailing woman on WhatsApp
The Federal Investigation Agency’s cybercrime wing in Peshawar has arrested a man for allegedly sharing obscene pictures of a woman on social media and blackmailing her.

FIA officials said a woman had filed a complaint with FIA’s cybercrime wing, stating that Farzan Ali allegedly shared her obscene pictures on WhatsApp to blackmail her.

“On Wednesday, the cybercrime wing arrested Farzan during a raid carried out in Faisalabad. The officials also confiscated a mobile phone from his procession,” an FIA official said, adding Ali was charged under relevant sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.

FIAs Cyber Wing has received a total of 244,930 complaints since January 1, 2019 of various cyber offenses including sharing of explicit videos and pictures. Reportedly 2,571 cases have been registered and 2,583 accused have been arrested so far.

Four girls including two sisters kidnapped in Pindi
Four girls including two sisters were abducted from different areas of Rawalpindi. Muhammad Rab Nawaz told Gujarkhan police station that his daughters aged 21 and 23 were kidnapped.

Another complainant Nadir Shah told RA Bazar police station that someone had kidnapped his wife and in a different incident Ghulamuddin told Wah Cantt police station that his 15-year-old daughter who is mentally challeged and mute disappeared.

The wave of violence against women in the twin city has notably increased in recent months. Police have launched separate investigations.
