Court issues death penalty for man who killed wife infront of their children

Islamabad Court sentenced a man named Nasir Hussain who slit his wife’s throat in front of their children.

Judge Atta Rabbani of the District and Sessions Court Islamabad issued a 15-page verdict in which it was said that the criminal Nasir Hussain killed his wife by slitting her throat in front of 2 children on November 19, 2020.

According to the report, the couple have 3 sons and 2 daughters. The sons told the court in the statement that the father killed the mother in front of them. The children’s testimony played an important role in the court verdict. The man has been sentenced to death for the heinous crime.

 

Federal Shariat Court takes notice of 6-year-old’s forced marriage in Balochistan

The Federal Shariat Court (FSC) has taken a suo motu notice of a six-year-old girl’s forced marriage in Balochistan on Monday and issued a notice for a report from the provincial government on child marriages.

An FSC bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Syed Mohammad Anwer and Justice Khadim Hussain M. Shaikh took up an application regarding the forced child marriage.

When the law officer of Balochistan submitted a report regarding the incident, he was asked about the steps being taken by the provincial legislature to prevent child marriage and as well as the forced marriage. The court directed the law officer to submit a detailed report regarding such legislation and the draft for such legislation on or before next date of hearing on Nov 28.
