Man murders teen daughter for ‘honour’
One Aslam on Monday shot dead his 16-year-old daughter Aiman and wounded her 17-year-old friend for ‘honour’ in Qasba Colony in Orangi Town, Karachi.
According to police, the boy had come over to Aiman’s house to meet her. Upon seeing them together, the girl’s father opened indiscriminate fire, killing his daughter on the spot and injuring her friend. The suspect managed to flee after the murder.
The deceased and survivor were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), where the boy is said to be out of danger.
Two arrested for alleged blasphemy
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore arrested two men for allegedly sharing blasphemous material via WhatsApp and Facebook.
The two accused were booked under sections 109 (abetment), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 295-B (defiling, etc., of Holy Qur’an), 295-C (use of derogatory remarks, etc., in respect of the Holy Prophet), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
Traffic warden suspended for harassment
The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Muntazir Mehdi on Monday suspended a traffic warden for allegedly harassing a woman and her daughter on The Mall.
The woman, who was in her car with her daughter at a traffic stop, took to social media regarding the incident. Taking notice, CTO Lahore stated that strict action would be taken and later suspended the accused personnel.
