Woman gang-raped for 4 days
Police are on the hunt for five accused of abducting a woman during a robbery and repeatedly raping her over the course of 4 days in Chiniot, Punjab on September 11.
According to reports, the victim was asleep with her children when the assailants burgled her home of gold and cash before kidnapping the woman as well. The suspects held her captive in an abandoned farmhouse where they repeatedly gang-raped her and circulated pictures on the internet. She was released after four days of torture.
Police registered a case on the complaint of the woman’s husband after media outcry, under section 496A of the Pakistan Penal Code (enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a woman), and section 18 of the Motion Pictures Ordinance 1979.
However, the woman has chosen to live at a women’s shelter instead of returning home due to fears that she may be subjected to violence by her family for the honor.
Newborn abducted by “polio worker”
A six-day-old girl was snatched by a woman pretending to be a polio worker in Bhagiwal Tibba village in Chunian, Kasur on Tuesday, September 15. The kidnapper was accompanied by an unknown male.
According to Abbas Ali, the woman had posed as a lady healthcare worker and took his daughter outside their home to administer the oral polio vaccine. The woman then fled with her accomplice on a motorbike
Husband strangles wife to death
Advocate Sobia Qazi was found strangled to death in her home in Paretabad, Hyderabad, on Monday, September 14. Police arrested her husband, Aamir Marwari, who confessed during interrogation that he had killed his wife following a domestic dispute. The deceased has been shifted to the Liaquat University Hospital for a post-mortem while the investigation is still ongoing.
Minor domestic worker raped by the landlord
A 16-year-old domestic worker was repeatedly raped by her landlord over the course of six months in Melowal, Sargodha. A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother while the girl has been shifted to a hospital for a medical exam. Police are on the lookout for the accused.
