Bodies of mother and daughter recovered from Shahdara
On Tuesday night, local police recovered the bodies of 45-year-old Bushra Bibi and her 20-year-old daughter Sana from a house in the Shahdara area of Lahore. According to the police, the mother and daughter were killed by one of their younger relatives in retaliation for giving him Sana’s hand in marriage.
Lahore High Court orders provincial Govt to ensure the welfare of persons with disabilities
Lahore High Court has directed the provincial government to take all necessary steps for the empowerment of persons with disabilities. The court also advised the government to ensure effective implementation of the “Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Different abilities act 2021” which has already been presented before the provincial assembly.
Student unions an effective tool against rising cases of campus harassment: Bilawal Bhutto
Addressing a jam-packed hall at a function organized by the Pakistan Peoples Party-affiliated students’ group the People’s Students Federation, party chairman Bilawal Bhutto acknowledged an increase in incidents of harassment in Sindh’s campuses. However, referring to the recent student union revival bill passed by his provincial government, he said that student unions are an effective tool against rising cases of campus harassment.
