6-year-old girl murdered after rape in Karachi
A six-year-old girl Maham was killed after being raped in Korangi area of Karachi. Her body was recovered from a garbage dump.
The eyewitnesses told the police that a rickshaw driver threw the body of the girl in a pile of garbage and fled.
As per a preliminary medical report, the girl was raped before being murdered but no one has been arrested yet.
ATC adjourns trial of Gulalai’s parents
Peshawar’s anti-terrorism court has adjourned the trial of parents of social activist Gulalai Ismail until August 3. They were booked by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in an FIR registered on July 6, 2019 on charges of sedition and terrorists financing and facilitation.
Professor Ismail’s lawyers did not appear before the court due to lawyers’ strike, while two prosecution witnesses recorded their statements. Professor Ismail has denied all charges leveled against him by the CTD.
Zahir Jaffer’s remand extended
In the Noor Muqadam murder case, the court has extended the physical remand of the main accused Zahir Zakir for another three days.
Police requested the court that they have obtained CCTV footage from the accused’s house and now they have to take Zahir Jaffer to Lahore for forensic analysis of the footage.
On the other hand, Islamabad Police has requested the media to refrain from speculations in the Noor Muqadam case.
