Man murders and dumps wife’s body in canal

A man in Lodhran has been arrested for the suspected murder of his wife and then dumping her charred remains into a canal. apprently he had dismembered the woman’s body and then burnt it in an oven.

Police said Muhammad Sharif had a fight with his wife of 12 years Ishrat Mai after his six-year-old daughter took money from his shop without his permission to buy eatables.

On June 14, the suspect sent his three children to his father-in-law’s home and slashed his wife’s throat with an ice pick and incinerated her dismembered body in an oven. He dumped the charred remains into a canal. The father-in-law approached the police to locate her daughter. The suspect was taken into custody and confessed his crime during the investigation.

4 teachers wounded in Mastung attack

Four female teachers were injured when unidentified gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on their school van in Mastung district on June 19.

Mastung Deputy Commissioner Ilyas Kibzai said the van was carrying 11 teachers and it came under fire near an old railway crossing in Dasht Baba locality. The teachers worked in a government school in Quetta and were on their way home to Mastung. No arrests have been made in the case yet.

Murder-rape suspect killed in ‘encounter’

A murder and rape suspect of an 11-year-old girl was killed in an alleged police encounter in Gujranwala on Sunday.

Police said Ali Hassan had confessed to killing the girl student after assaulting her while she was returning home from school. The girl’s body was found in the fields on Friday.

Police the suspect was being taken for identification of the crime scene when his accomplices attacked the police team, adding that Hassan was killed in the shootout.
