Dijkot man rapes six year old boy

D-Type Colony police have lodged a case under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Pakistan Penal Code against one Muneeb for raping his 6 year old neighbor in Sohailabad, Dijkot on Sunday, February 14.

According to the report, the minor had been playing outside his home when he was abducted by the accused and subjected to sexual assault in an unfamiliar location. However, Muneeb managed to flee when the cries of the boy attracted the attention of nearby people. Police are currently conducting raids to apprehend the accused.

Chunian woman forced to give birth in hospital bathroom

The family of a woman, identified as 23-year-old Parveen Bibi, have alleged negligence on part of the gynecologist at the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital in Chunian after the woman was forced to give birth on the floor of the hospital’s bathroom on Sunday.

Parveen, who hailed from Kando Khara village, was admitted to the hospital two days back for labour pains. Her family was informed she would require a cesarean, however the procedure was delayed and Parveen went into labour, eventually giving birth in the hospital’s bathroom.

Suicide among Tharparkar women on rise

Approximately 125 women in Tharparkar have committed suicide between January 2020 and January 2021, according to speakers at a workshop attended by civil society organizations, NGOs and psychologists in Mithi. The session found that key factors for the rising suicide rate among women were extreme poverty and strict customs that enforce gender inequalities in Tharparkar.
