
Relative’s DNA confirmed in Khairpur minor’s rape and murder case
Deputy Inspector General of Police Fida Hussain Mastoi announced on Monday, January 18, that the DNA of a relative was found to match samples collected from the body of a seven-year-old minor girl who was found murdered after being raped last week in Hadal Shah village of Pirjo Goth city, Khairpur district, Sindh.
Samples from 365 individuals had been collected by the police, while five suspects were held under suspicion two days after the girl’s body was discovered on January 4. An autopsy confirmed that the deceased was raped and then strangled to death.
Police are now on the move to arrest the offender whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
Man rapes two minors in seminary in Mardan
Sheikh Matoon police arrested Muhammad Kamran, a van driver by profession, for raping two minor boys in a seminary in the Gujjar Garhi area of Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the FIR, some two weeks back the complainant’s 11-year-old brother returned home sooner than expected. Upon inquiry, the boy revealed that he was sexually assaulted along with another boy by the van driver. Two other children who attended the same seminary confirmed they had witnessed the rape.
Okara man guns down sister after quarrel
One Wasim Akhtar, a resident of New Colony in Mustafabad of Depalpur tehsil, Okara district, shot dead his sister Sawera following a domestic quarrel. According to the complainant, Kausar Parveen, her son disposed of her daughter’s body in a canal near Katlohi, Kasur district, and then fled. Police managed to nab the suspect on Sunday, while investigation is currently ongoing.
