Man shoots dead sister for honour in Dijkot

One Afzal, a resident of Chak 471-GB Samundri of Dijkot in Faisalabad district, Punjab, gunned down his sister 35-year-old Zehra Taslim, for honour on Sunday, December 20.

According to reports, Zehra had divorced her husband Zafar some two months back and was living in her father Sher Nawab’s home with her five children. However, Zehra had fled from her home but was recovered on a panchayat’s orders. In a fit of rage, her brother Afzal shot her directly in the head – the woman died from her injury on the way to the hospital.

A case under section 302 (punishment for murder with intent) of the Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against Afzal, while police are conducting raids to apprehend the absconded suspect.

Man guns down wife, mother-in-law in Swat

One Saleh, accompanied by his father and brother, shot his wife and mother-in-law dead in her home in Matta, Swat, on Sunday. According to the police, Saleh and his wife had argued a week back, following which the latter went to stay with her parents. On the day of the incident, Saleh in the company of his father and brother went to her home and opened fire on her. His mother-in-law was also shot when she tried to protect her daughter – both women were killed on the spot.

All three suspects have been apprehended by police for questioning, and an FIR has been registered.

Man arrested for raping minor boy in Lodhran

Police managed to arrest a man for allegedly raping a seven-year-old boy in Jallah Arain in Lodhran district, Punjab on Sunday. The suspect intercepted the minor on his way home and took him to some fields where he was then sexually assaulted. The assailant was arrested hours after the incident, and an FIR has been registered.
