Ban on indoor marriages from Nov 20

The NCOC has banned indoor marriages and fixed Rs 100 fine for not wearing masks in public from November 7 as part of new restrictions to control the second COVID wave in the country. The NCOC said the ban on indoor marriages will be enforced from November 20. Restrictions to stay till January 2021

Daily cases cross 1500

The number of daily COVID cases has crossed the threshold of 1500 with 20 more fatalities in the last 24 hours in the country. Punjab recorded 352 new infections with nine deaths while Sindh confirmed 579 new cases with three deaths.

Rs 500 fine for not wearing mask in Karachi

The administration has ordered all citizens in Karachi to compulsorily wear masks and imposed Rs500 on first-time offenders and Rs1,000 on repeat offenders. Commissioner said everyone in public spaces must wear a mask or will face a fine and arrest for non-compliance.

Women University to hold online classes

The Women University in Swabi has announced the holding of its classes online for two weeks in view of a rise in COVID cases. Separately, the administration in Peshawar has imposed a partial lockdown in seven localities due to a jump in COVID cases there.
