No full lockdown but govt to enforce SOPs strictly

The National Coordination Committee (NCC) has ruled out the position of a complete lockdown but endorsed other restrictions to contain the second wave of COVID in the country. The NCC approved the ct implementation of the SOPs at public places and reduction in timings for markets and commercial activities.

NA, Senate offices closed till Nov 6

The National Assembly Secretariat and the Senate Secretariat have been closed down till November 6 for disinfection amid rising COVID cases.

The notification says only a quarter of staff may come to the office from November 9. Employees with symptoms told to get themselves tested.

Hospital shuts ward after 16 workers infected

Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar has shut down award after 16 health workers, including eight doctors, were infected by COVID. The hospital shut the surgical B ward on October 29. Eight more staffers of the gynae ward have also tested positive for COVID.

1,313 cases, 18 deaths across the country

At least 1,313 new infections with 18 fatalities have been reported in the last 24 hours as the country battles a second wave of the pandemic. According to NCOC, Total infections have topped 337,573 while total deaths reached 6,867. Total recoveries from the virus stood at 316,060 while active cases numbered 14,646.
