NCOC mulls restrictions in the second wave

NCOC is discussing additional measures to stem the rise of COVID cases due to a second wave in the country. Asad Umar says recommendations will include measures to control disease spread without curtailing economic activity.

 1167 infected, 14 die of COVID

At least 1,167 new infections were reported with 14 fatalities across the country in the last 24 hours. According to NCOC, total Covid cases reached 336,260 and total deaths crossed 6,894 with 315,446 recoveries since the start of the pandemic.

 10 schools sealed in Gujrat, Jhelum

A total of 10 schools have been shut down in Gujrat and Jhelum districts after students and teachers tested positive for COVID. Of the 10 schools, six were sealed in Jhelum and four in Gujrat district amid a hike in COVID cases.

Govt allows Raiwind congregation with conditions

The government has allowed the holding of Raiwind congregation with the participation of 54,000 followers under guidelines from November 6 to 8. No foreigners will be allowed to attend the gathering. People from districts with over five percent positivity rate barred from the congregation.
