Two women were killed by their husbands in Lahore on Monday. In one incident, the husband attacked his wife with a knife and she later died at the hospital.
In another, a husband strangled his wife with a scarf. In a separate incident, a man tortured and shaved his wife’s head. All suspects have been arrested.
CDA Takes Steps to Enhance Security in Park After Recent Rape Incident
In the wake of the recent sexual assault in F-9 Park in Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to improve security measures in the park. Despite similar promises being made after a similar crime occurred in the park in 2018, little was done to improve safety.
However, CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal has now taken action, including the installation of 80 security cameras, the provision of 12 new motorcycles for patrolling, the suspension of two officers, and the restriction of visitors from the park’s forest area after sunset.
The chairman has also approved a budget of Rs100 million for installing solar panels in the park and has warned that officials will face consequences if the new standard operating procedures are not followed.

Woman Gang-Raped by Seven in Bahawalpur, Three Suspects Arrested
A woman was gang-raped by seven individuals in Bahawalpur on Monday, according to police. The woman, who resides in Mailay Wali Gali, claimed that M Jaffar lured her to an abandoned house with the promise of a job, where he and six others sexually assaulted her.
After she lost consciousness, they left her at Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
The police have arrested three of the suspects. In a separate incident, two robbers took a motorcycle from a citizen and shot them after facing resistance in the Sama Satta Police area on Sunday evening.
