15 million exposed to Covid
According to a study conducted by the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) around seven percent or 15 million of Pakistanis have been exposed to COVID. The study showed that the spread of the virus is greater in the cities as compared to the rural areas.
Over 3000 cases reported
There were 3,009 new cases recorded in the country in the last 24 hours due to which the tally of Covid-19 cases jumped to 382,892. The death toll increased to 7,803 after 59 patients passed away.
Jadam Mangrio loses life to Covid
Jadam Mangrio, a former federal minister for railways and PML-F leader, has passed away due to complications caused by COVID. He had been undergoing treatment in Karachi for the last few days.
Worst is yet to come warns Asad Umar
Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning and Development, has warned that Pakistan could encounter the worst stage of the pandemic if the standard operating procedures (SOPs) were not followed. He urged the opposition parties not to hold public meetings and encouraged the strict implementation of SOPs in mosques in an effort to curb the spread of COVID.
