Daily cases remain over 2,000
Health authorities in the country reported at least 2,165 cases for the second day along with 17 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total number of active cases has risen to 24,398 including 97 critical patients while 851 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours.
MPA dies of COVID
Jam Madad Ali, Sindh MPA of PPP, has passed away in Karachi due to complications caused by COVID. Ali was admitted to a private hospital for treatment after testing positive for the virus 15 days ago.
Peshawar has the highest positivity rate in KP
The World Health Organisation has stated Peshawar had the greatest COVID positivity rate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after 10 percent of the samples tested positive. In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, 12 people died of COVID and 450 got infected in the last 24 hours. A total of 10 educational institutions were also sealed there.
University, school sealed in Bahawalpur
Sadiq Public School has been sealed after 13 students and faculty members tested positive for the virus. Similarly, the authorities had shut down Islamia University Bahawalpur a day before in the city.
