Sisters gunned down in Charsadda
Police have initiated an investigation into the murder of two sisters in the Sadat Utmanzai neighborhood in Charsadda, on Monday, October 19.
The girls had come back home after attending a wedding when two unidentified assailants gunned them down in their homes. Upon hearing of the incident, a cousin of the deceased, Safdar Hussain Shah, rushed over to find the two lyings dead in a pool of their own blood. The girls were unmarried, and the family had no enmity with anyone. An FIR has been registered in the case.
Two killed, one injured in separate Karo-Kari incidents
On Monday, October 19, one Mohammad Nawaz Jakhrani and his alleged paramour, Sumal, sustained injuries after her husband, Pir Bakhsh Khoso, opened fire on them in Abdul Aziz Khoso village in the Thul taluka of Jacobabad District, Sindh. According to residents, the assailant declared Jakhrani Kari before firing at the two and fleeing – Jakhrani was killed on the spot while Sumal was wounded. The deceased was shifted to the Thul taluka hospital for a postmortem examination before he was handed over to his heirs. Meanwhile, Sumal has been declared out of danger. Police are on the hunt for the absconded Khoso.
In a separate incident, a woman was gunned down by her brother in Khuda Bux Kalwar village of Mirpur Mathello in Sukkur, Sindh. According to reports, Abdul Khalique Kalwar declared his sister, Mithi, wife of Abdul Qadir, kari before opening fire on her and killing her on the spot. The suspect managed to flee. The deceased has been shifted to a Pano Aqil hospital for an autopsy, while police are actively searching for the escaped suspect.
Woman slaughtered by husband in Karachi
30-year-old Rasheeda was slaughtered by her husband, Ghulam Hussain, in their home in Dawood Goth in the Saeedabad neighborhood of Karachi on Monday, October 19. According to the police, the incident transpired following a domestic dispute between the deceased and the suspect. Police managed to recover the murder weapon, while the victim’s body was shifted to the Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for an autopsy. A case has been registered by the deceased’s brother.
Pregnant woman tortured to death by in-laws in Sialkot
Sialkot police arrest six for the torture and murder of a pregnant woman in Muradpur, Sialkot, on Monday, October 19. According to the police report, the deceased, Sidra has married Ali Haider some years ago and was subjected to domestic violence by her husband and in-laws over dowry. Sidra had borne Haider a daughter and was pregnant with their second child.
On the day of the incident, Haider, his father Muhammad Anwar, his mother Shakila, his sisters Sadia and Muqaddas, and his brother Usama Anwar, brutally thrashed Sidra, who could not bear the torture and succumbed to her injuries. Police were informed of the incident by neighbors – the deceased was taken to a hospital for a postmortem examination, while a case was registered against the six accused by Sidra’s mother, Amtal Hafeez.
