Schools may open in phases starting from September 15th

Federal Education ministry will hold meeting with education ministers on September 7. The decision on reopening educational institutions in phases from Sept 15 will be announced after the meeting.

Plea for special courts to try offenses against religion

A lawyer has petitioned the Peshawar High Court, asking the court to order federal and KP governments to set up special courts to deal with offenses against religion in the penal code. The lawyer has requested high courts to order the legislature to set up separate rules.

Man ordered to pay dower to the first wife before marrying again

Supreme Court has ordered a man to immediately pay dower to the first wife if he marries a second woman without her permission. SC has upheld Peshawar High Court’s verdict on Mahr payment.

Transgender found dead in Karachi

The body of a 32-year-old transgender was found in Gulshan-i-Iqbal. Police said there were ‘torture marks’ on the body. Sabir, alias Angoori, was recovered from a home in Rajput Colony, Block-5.

Brick Kilns to get help for anti-smog measures

Brick kilns will get help from Punjab Bank to help switch to new zig-zag technology. This is the second consecutive year government has directed for this change to be made in preparation of smog months.
