NAB chief can order the arrest of accused anytime: draft rules

 Under draft rules of NAB Ordinance submitted to SC, NAB Chairman can order the arrest of an accused at any stage of the inquiry. The apex court has asked NAB to present the rules while hearing a suo motu case on delay in the trial of suspects in accountability courts.

 Pakistan wants a nuke-free world

Ahead of the International Day against Nuclear Tests, Pakistan has reminded the world of its voluntary moratorium on nuclear testing since 1998 despite threats. Ambassador Muhammad Aamir Khan, the deputy permanent representative, said his country was committed to the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world.

 Patients suffer as wards drown in Karachi rains

Rainwater added to the misery of patients as wards of many hospitals were flooded during heavy rains in Karachi. The rainwater inundated wards in Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases, Jinnah Hospital, Civil Hospital, Liaquat National Hospital, Saifi Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital, and many other places. The patients were shifted to other wards that have remained safe from rainwater.
