Peshawar: A TikTok video of famous Pashtu singer Gul Panra seems to have irked the entire cabinet of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. The video was shot inside the official residence of the Deputy Commissioner Khyber district. But Ms, Panra said that she had gone to the residence of the DC as a guest of the Pakistan Muslim League (PMLN)  leader Arbab Khizar Hayat and that it was not a crime to shoot a Tik Tok video. In the video, Ms. Panra was seen dancing.

Hayat has gone so far as to apologize to the district administration Khyber for accompanying the singer.

Even the Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan has taken notice of the video and has set up an inquiry committee headed by the home secretary to find out how Panra was able to shoot the video amid strict security protocol.

At the same time, Jamat-i-Islami Landi Kotal staged a protest against Panra’s act. The protestors chanted slogans against DC Khyber for allowing the singer to shoot the video.

“We vehemently criticize this act,” said Murad Hussain, Ameer JI Landi Kotal. “These official buildings are made for the welfare of the people and not for dancing. We demand that those involved in facilitating Panra in shooting the video should be held accountable.”

According to DC Khyber Mahmood Aslam Wazir, the district administration has nothing to do with the video. He said that the matter will be probed as to how a family entered an official residence and made a TikTok video there without permission.

Assistant Commissioner Landi Kotal Muhammad Imran has been directed to investigate the matter.
