Corona Related Deaths

Data shows that 3,595 people were buried in 34 graveyards controlled by KMC in Karachi during June 2020 as compared to 2,375 burials in June 2019.

In Lahore, 3,723 burials were recorded during June 2020 while 1,744 in June 2019. But according to govt’s records, a total of 2161 people died in Punjab & Sindh till June under the pandemic.

Total Death Toll

93 died due to COVID-19 and 3,191 tested positive in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in Pakistan upto 228,474: NCOC

Adding the recent deaths, at least 4,712 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Pakistan. With 92,306 patients, Sindh has been affected the most.

Plasma Restrictions

Hayatabad Medical Complex has decided to allow plasma therapy from the established donation bank to the admitted patients only.

To curb the misuse, national guidelines say plasma transfusion can be done in authorised hospitals only, and for KP it is HMC in Peshawar.

Risk Allowance

Provincial Doctors Association KP has demands a risk allowance for all health workers as announced by Sindh government recently: Secretary PDA

Doctors also demand a package for the slain doctors and a quota in medical colleges for their children as at least 1900 tested positive but continued services.

Bajaur Hospital

DHQ Bajaur was upgraded to category-A hospital 3 years ago without essential equipment, says ANP district leadership while calling for a protest.

They said the hospital had been running short of basic facilities for 2 years despite the fact that the govt is providing heavy funds for it.
