Child Labour

Government has decided to criminalise child domestic labor. Cabinet has approved MoHR’s summary to amend the 1991 Child Employment Act.

Shireen Mazari also said that Section 4 of the Act empowers the govt. to add any occupation to the prohibited list of work for children.

Poliovirus Returns

17-months-old Murad of Seri Kalkot, Upper Dir district has been diagnosed with type-2 Polio virus.

This is the first case reported in 8 years in Upper Dir of KP as the last one in the area had been reported in 2012.

Abetment To Suicide

Ghulam Mazharan of Thekriwala, Faisalabad was living with Muhammad Ali in Renala Khurd, Okara. They decided to commit suicide over threats.

They jumped into the canal, but Ali swam back to the bank and fled. Mazharan was hospitalized but a case has been registered against the couple by police.

Treatment Refused

Muhammad Azim, a resident of Chichawatni Saddar Bazaar, a kidney patient for 18 months died after Chichawatni THQ & Sahiwal DHQ refused treatment.

Azim was advised dialysis after every 60 days. He was refused because he had not been tested for COVID-19 while there was no testing facility in the area.
