Cases Fall

After 4000 to 5000 new cases every day, 3,622 cases of Covid-19 cases and 78 deaths were reported over the past 24 hours across Pakistan.

Testing has been reduced and 546 out of 1,539 ventilators are occupied but Zafar Mirza says the trends seem to be in the right direction for now.

Cash and COVID-19

At least 178 people catch COVID-19 in Sindh from PM’s Ehsaas programme, told provincial health minister, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho to the house on Wednesday.

She said this in response to other members’ concerns over the biometric verification system being used at centers becoming a source of the spread of COVID-19.

Reinfections

Two patients had tested negative after recovering from COVID-19 at Karachi’s Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals but were readmitted with severe symptoms again.

Lahore’s Mayo Hospital is also said to have reported doctors getting readmitted due reinfection. Health experts working with govt says it is less likely to happen.

Lockdown Extended

All businesses in 250 identified areas of Lahore to be closed with the help of 5000 police and rangers, officials will now ensure no unnecessary movement.

At least 580 deaths and 34,820 confirmed cases of the virus have been reported in Lahore. Previous lockdown was announced at 80 points by Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
