COVID-19 Drug To Undergo Clinical Trials

TR-C 19 drugs developed by de Khon Global and their partners in the Netherlands and Turkey approved by authorities to enter the clinical testing stage after showing promise in effectively eliminating the virus under laboratory conditions. The drug’s efficiency will be determined through testing on volunteer patients before being approved for mass production and distribution.

Local Transmissions At 90%

90% of total COVID-19 infections in the country are locally transmitted, while only 7% cases were contracted from repatriated citizens and 3% from pilgrims from Iran, according to a report compiled by National Emergency Operations Centre (NCOC) under supervision of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination. 702 of a total of 2,356 ventilators are available for COVID-19 patients in public hospitals, of which 112 are currently in use.

ICT & Rawalpindi Cases Surge

97 new cases in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and 125 in Rawalpindi were reported in the past 24 hours, while people throw caution to the wind and throng markets with limp enforcement of SOPs. Islamabad currently has the poorest COVID-19 recovery rate, with just 151 coronavirus-free against 1,163 still under treatment.

Medics At Lahore Hospital Test Positive

16 doctors of the Lahore General Hospital’s orthopedic department tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, May 22. Hospital administration believes the virus spreads from a house officer who performed duties while experiencing flu-like symptoms. The orthopedic department has been sealed for disinfection for 10 days. Routine surgeries have been postponed while only emergency operations will be performed at the unit.
