Honour Killing

A woman was shot dead by her husband for “honor” in Ditta Khel in district Mianwali, Punjab. Ali Asghar, 40, had believed his wife, Aseeran Bibi, 35, was having an affair with her cousin, Deewan Khan. Ali Asghar had an altercation with his wife regarding the matter, after which the accused pulled a gun on Aseeran and shot her dead. Police are investigating the incident, while the victim’s corpse has been shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Minor Raped & Murdered

On Monday, April 13, police apprehend two suspects in the rape and murder of a six-year-old boy in Ahmadnagar near Mandi Ahmadabad in Okara, Punjab. According to the victim’s father, Khadim Hussain, his son had left with the suspects, who resided in the same village, in the morning to graze sheep in a nearby field. The suspects failed to provide an answer as to the whereabouts of Hussain’s son after returning without the child. The victim’s family together with their neighbors launched a search for the boy – the victim’s partially naked body was discovered from a field.

District police arrested the two men who had accompanied the minor and an FIR has been registered. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Inmate Commits Suicide

An inmate of District Prison Lodhran allegedly committed suicide on Monday, April 13. Sufyan, 28, hailed from Gujranwala – an addict, he had been arrested for theft, according to police. The inmate had recently been transferred from a Lahore prison to District Prison Lodhran. A district & sessions court has ordered an investigation into the matter, while the inmate’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
