The complainant stated in his statement to the police that on the morning of August 20, 2026, at around 5:30 AM, the victim’s father-in-law, (Retired) Colonel Asghar Ali, called to inform them, “There is an emergency, reach here quickly.”
According to the complainant, upon receiving the call, the brother and relatives reached the victim’s house in Lalkurti at 7:23 AM, where they found Hina’s body lying on the bathroom floor.
As per the FIR, during the examination, both hands of the deceased were found tied tightly behind her back with a cloth, her mouth was gagged with a cloth, and an electric wire was wrapped around her neck. Blood and foam were coming out of her mouth and nose.
The complainant alleged that the accused attempted to give the alleged murder the appearance of a suicide and expressed suspicion that the victim was administered a toxic substance prior to the torture and strangulation.
Civil Lines Police Officer Muhammad Arif told Voicepk, “Immediately after the registration of the case, police and forensic teams reached the scene, secured all scientific evidence and clothing, and arrested the victim’s husband, Faisal Asghar, and domestic help, Zeeshan, from the spot. They are currently being interrogated.”
According to the police, the post-mortem examination of the body has been completed, and forensic reports are awaited to confirm poisoning or other factors.
The FIR further mentions that this was the second marriage of the nominated accused, Faisal Asghar. His first wife had also divorced him due to his alleged violence and abusive behavior. The victim’s brother stated that the accused had been subjecting Hina to continuous physical and mental torture since their marriage.
In a press statement, the victim’s family maintained that the father-in-law, Colonol (Retd) Asghar Ali, who is also nominated in the case, is equally involved in the incident but has not been arrested yet, demanding justice for the victim.
“He is absconding and has not been arrested yet. Police are conducting raids to apprehend him,” said Muhammad Arif.
