The protest by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and families of missing persons outside the National Press Club entered its 36th day on Tuesday.

Despite scorching heat and heavy rain, women and children continued their sit-in, holding pictures of their loved ones and demanding their safe recovery.

Hati Baloch, one of the protestors, said her husband has been missing for six years. She explained that she has three children and has been demonstrating in Islamabad for several days in hopes of her husband’s return.

Another protestor, Nadia, shared that her husband, Jahangir Baloch, has been missing for the past ten years. She recalled how their daughter Masooma had also taken part in the sit-in for her father’s recovery. Nadia is now continuing the struggle herself.

BYC leader Sammi Deen Baloch said that despite weeks of protest, no government representative has yet approached them to discuss their demands.

The protestors vowed to continue their sit-in in Islamabad until the recovery of BYC leaders and other missing persons.
