CHAMAN:

Fida Muhammad, a resident of Chaman Kaldara Bagche, was attached to the Lugri package at the Chaman border. Due to the implementation of the One Document Policy, he has been unemployed for the last ten months.
During this time, Fida Muhammad spent his savings or took loans from others to support his household. He sold his furniture and motorcycle a week ago.

Sadiq Achakzai, spokesperson of the Chaman protest sit-in, said that the government is neither showing seriousness nor forming an empowered committee to resolve our issues.

There are 40 registered private schools in the city of Chaman. Since October 2023, 10 private schools have been closed, while 10 more schools are expected to close down soon. During this time, “more than 6000 children left their studies and sat at home or left the country to earn a livelihood,” Rehmatullah Achakzai, President of Al Chaman Private Schools Association, told Voicepk.net.

Deputy Commissioner District Chaman Captain R. Raja Athar Abbas said that the government of Pakistan is in contact with the Afghan government to establish a free border zone near the border to reduce the economic hardships faced by the people of Chaman.
