KARACHI

A protest was held outside the Karachi Press Club against the Sargodha incident, and was attended by people belonging to different religions but specifically by the Christian community. Holding placards and chanting slogans, the protestors condemned the Sargodha incident and demanded the government to carry out a transparent investigation.

They also demanded that the government must ensure an end to religion based resentment and hatred among citizens.

“Such incidents are increasing day by day,” said an activist. “The purpose of such incidents is to force those from the religious minorities to leave the country.

The participants demanded an end to terrorism and injustices in the country, demanding action against those making false accusations.

People from all walks of life attended the protest with men and women both taking part. Another activist said that they country was going through a difficult situation at the moment and the country’s situation will worsen due to such incidents. “Such miscreants do not want peace in the country,” she said.
The protestors said that if the situation was not controlled in the long term, the country would be defamed globally.
